Ocean Product Manager

job summary:
A well established international transportation provider has an opportunity in Atlanta for an Ocean Product Manager. The primary responsibility for this role would be to negotiate all multi-country annual contacts for cargo moving to and from the U.S.

  • Responsibilities

    ** Supervise Import Operations
  • Oversee daily operations including the direct contact with branches / customers / brokers / carriers. Update AS400, collect documents for Customs clearance, issue delivery order, billing invoice etc.
  • Accounting-Related (Account Payable & Account Receivable), including Approval, Accrual, Troubleshooting and Reporting
  • Reporting and analysis for management
  • Responsible for ensuring all product operations within assigned territory are compliant to internal and external regulations.
  • Solidify most cost effective rates and service by leveraging existing high volumes
  • Responsible for timely and accurate costing, revenue estimates, rating, and invoicing
  • Ensure product operations meet customer service levels at minimal costs through a system of effective routing and procurement
  • Meeting volume and top line product revenue growth targets for assigned territories
  • As subject matter expert when communicating with customers, responsible for executive sponsor for key customers within assigned territory
Required Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience.
  • Approximately 6 years department or industry experience
  • Working Knowledge of general and Import/Export Computer application technology
  • Analytical skill (Familiar with logistics concept and planning concept)
  • Knowledge of international commerce (Incoterms, method, customs regulations etc.)
  • Knowledge of Consolidator system
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), State, Federal and Interstate Commerce commission (ICC) regulation
  • Communication skill
  • Able to multitask and effectively handle changing priorities under pressure.
  • Good Written & Verbal Skills; Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Good computer skills (AS-400, Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes)
