job summary:












Communications Specialist

  • Writes and edits copy to ensure materials and/or web content are clear, concise and audience-appropriate.
  • Collaborates with business partners and others to create effective messages designed to achieve business objectives.
  • Assesses readability to ensure communications comply with required quality standards.
  • Applies approved corporate style and branding standards to ensure consistency in copy and design.
  • Corrects errors in type, format, grammar, punctuation and spelling (notes corrections electronically and on paper using standard proofreader's marks).
  • Documents and provides proofs with marked corrections to be revised and reviewed.
  • Ensures accuracy of material and/or web content through research.
  • Escalates concerns to key stakeholders regarding content that may need review.
  • Participates in kickoff/strategy meetings for special projects and assignments.
  • Open and close job tasks in communication workflow
  • Track and provide status of business owner and regulatory recommendations and approvals
  • Archive final versions of communications upon completion
  • Proof communications to ensure quality and brand standards are met
  • Maintain strong, positive, working relationships with business partners and Provider communications colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • MS Office products is required.
  • Adobe professional is a plus


Qualifications

  • Education - A Bachelor's Degree in Advertising or Marketing
  • 3+ years of in-house or agency experience
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and management Advanced
  • Ability to multi-task Advanced
  • Ability to proof large bodies of materials Advanced
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines Advanced
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills Advanced
  • Demonstrated organizational skills Advanced---Demonstrated project management skills Advanced
