VP of Construction/Operations-Executive level

Hands on Vice President of Construction/HVAC needed to run the day to day for this exciting construction business in the Lawenceville area. This is an executive position and highly visible within the company.

responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and successful completion of all construction activities in the company's multi-family new construction business
  • Promote and foster teamwork by setting specific goals, monitoring and analyzing jobs as they proceed, forecasting current and future manpower requirements as needed, and appraising individual and group performance to establish highly competent teams
  • Interact with the executive team to set and achieve company-wide goals
  • Provide excellent leadership to work teams and individual employees
  • Provide timely communication within department and across organizational lines
  • Provide timely performance feedback, training, and coaching to develop subordinate managers and employees
  • Responsible for employee related transactions including hiring, promotions, transfers, and terminations
  • Provide construction management support by reviewing monthly profit and loss statements, project status reports and other information to ensure organizational goals are met
  • Review and coordinate current and upcoming jobs to ensure efficient planning, materials, labor forecasting, and coordination on jobs to ensure efficient resource allocations, financial performance and customer satisfaction
  • Work with Regional Directors, Field Managers, and Subcontractors to resource and deploy work teams across the company to ensure customer needs are met
  • Meet with existing and new customers, general contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate on jobs, bids and proposals
  • Ensure, through timely and proactive communication, positive customer and vendor relations
  • Drive and lead continuous process improvement and Lean/Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Support and coordinate with sales to provide accurate estimates for bids and proposals
  • Maintain accurate record keeping on trucks, parts, and material inventory and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis
 
qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree
Experience:

  • 10+ years in HVAC construction (required)
  • 10+ years of progress management
Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office , HEAVY EXCEL
Certifications

Licenses:


  • HVAC License preferred but not required
Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of construction industry, principles, and practices related to project estimation, labor forecasting, building permits, multiple disciplines involved in area of responsibility e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and fixtures construction
  • Demonstrate ability manage multiple projects, set and balance competing priorities with strong organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Comprehensive understanding of Mechanical systems used to heat, ventilate, and air condition buildings including energy recovery, dedicated outside air systems, VRF systems, etc.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills, ability to proactively address customer issues and concerns
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to lead diverse and multi-discipline workforce
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Good communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated business and project management skills including knowledge of automated project management tools, financial reports and general knowledge of accounting principles
