Logistics Coordinator

job summary:
  • Identify freight and coordinate delivery in a timely manner to ensure customer and company requirements are met. 35%

    • Ensure maximum efficiencies and optimization in moving freight.
    • Properly monitor shipments for customer to ensure on time, accurate and satisfaction deliveries.
    • Correctly troubleshoots and proactively resolves shipment discrepancies, as needed.
    • Proactively communicates with customers, employees and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met.
  • Ensures the integrity of transportation documentation. 15%

    • Verifies accuracy of shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records
  • Maintains a delivery schedule and proactively communicates to all relevant departments. 25%
  • Data integrity 15%

    • Handles the maintenance of system data requirements and ensures integrity at all times.
    • Correctly and accurately enters data into transportation management system.
Correctly maintains and generates required reports; properly process, audits and files various documentation for appropriate departments. 10%

  • Minimum Required Education: Associate's Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics required
  • Minimum Required Experience: Two or more years in the logistics industry.

    Desirable Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field preferred, 3-5 years' experience in logistics, knowledge of DOT rules and regulations preferred.

    Technical Competencies

    • Basic Computer Skills -

      • Strong Fluency user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Accurately inputs information into and retrieves from the computer.
      • Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.
      • Demonstrates ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications.
    • Other Technical / Computer Skills -

      • Thorough knowledge of internal company software applications applicable to position/business unit
      • Acts as subject matter expert and provides training, troubleshooting and other support for software applications managed by business unit (i.e. COGNOS, FIS, Incentive Scorecards)
      • Understands and is familiar with the most widely known and emerging tools, technologies and social applications.



        Other must haves:

        Strong analytical/communication and time management skills required. Self-motivated, team-oriented.
