PROPOSAL MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Proposal Manager provides proposal management and development to support global client retention and new client pursuit strategies. The Proposal Manager collaborates with internal team members/functional subject matter experts to communicate the company's core capabilities in response to RFPs, ITTs, RFIs, PQQs, unsolicited capabilities statements, requests for price quotes, or other deliverables that support revenue retention and growth.

responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • At proposal assignment, review the RFP/solicitation as well as all documentation resulting from capture phase
  • Parse/analyze RFPs for discrete requirements and organize those requirements into a branded proposal outline
  • Initiate and run proposal kickoff meetings, as well as subsequent solution meetings, mid-level strategy meetings, draft reviews, management stand-ups, and others as necessary
  • Create a proposal development/completion calendar that accounts for all variables including deadlines for submission, requirements for compliance with the RFP, and other ongoing activities
  • Work with internal departments to define solutions and generate necessary responses to requirements
  • Track all action items/assignments in a dashboard to monitor timely completion of critical milestones, redirecting resources as necessary
  • Confirm that proposal responses are complete, compliant, and aligned with customer expectations
  • Ensure that all proposals and other deliverables adhere to corporate brand standards for formatting and messaging
 
qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS :

  • BA or BS in Business, English, Communications, or Marketing (or similar discipline)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Shipley proposal management best practices
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills - able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • 4-7 years' experience independently managing full proposal lifecycle (as outlined in Responsibilities, above)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES :

  • APMP® or PMP® certification
  • Microsoft Office® power user, specifically Word and Excel
  • Strong technical editing/copy editing skills
  • Financial/business acumen that supports contribution to pricing strategies and corporate revenue goals
