job summary:
Leading International electronic company is looking for a Buyer for their US division. Reports to the US Controller responsible for processing a mix of routine and/or repeat orders with established Suppliers and new product/Supplier orders. The Buyer works independently and/or in a team with assistance from Senior Buyer, Lead Buyer or Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Customers and Suppliers on contract negotiations and on issues regarding delivery, quality, and incomplete and/or damaged shipments.
  • Coordinate and negotiate terms (availability, price, quantity and delivery date) between Customers and Suppliers. May negotiate specifications for customized products and/or may serve as the intermediary between Customers and Suppliers regarding specifications.
  • Keep records of price, quality and delivery for Suppliers and organize information for use in price negotiation, Supplier performance improvement and Customer satisfaction.
  • Track each Supplier's shipments and follow-up with the delivery schedule of the goods.
  • Meet with Suppliers as necessary, to resolve issues and/or gather information on products.
  • Receive request for quotation/information from Customers, prepare request for quotation/information to existing Suppliers or source new Suppliers, and process/submit quotation to Customers.
  • Receive and process purchase orders from Customers.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders to Suppliers. Develop and maintain Supplier files.
  • Prepare invoices and other necessary shipping documents at time of shipments. Forward copies of documents to the freight forwarder and to the Customer.
  • Prepare weekly status report of open orders to ensure on time delivery.
Requirements for Buyer position:

  • B. S. or B. A. degree or equivalent.
  • Three to five years purchasing experience.
  • Possess general knowledge of export regulations, logistics principle and terms and accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook).
