Our client is a mid-sized high growth technology company currently seeking a staff accountant to join their growing accounting team. This person will mainly be in charge of payroll, AP/AR, and GL functions. This person must know how to process ACH payments. Netsuite is the accounting software that they use but is not a requirement.
Under general direction, the staff accountant supports full-cycle accounting and finance duties which includes Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Payroll, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger as well as contract support elements. In addition to Key Duties and Responsibilities, makes recommendations to improve processes, creates efficiencies and standardizes business practices. Documents and implements approved recommendations, striving for increased efficiency and cost reduction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
*Review and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports verifying accuracy, documentation and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations; enter and post vouchers in the accounting system; process checks and ACH payments; maintain paper and electronic vendor files.
*Create and process year-end 1099's.
*Prepare monthly reconciliation of corporate credit cards.
*Responsible for semi-monthly payroll including review of timesheets and transfer of payroll data to payroll provider. Ensure timekeeping, payroll and accounting systems reconcile.
*Assist in monthly journal entries, month end closing and account reconciliations.
*Maintain company's expense module to ensure travel reports are in accordance to Joint Travel Regulations.
*Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices for government contractors.
*Assist in preparation and submission of customer invoices on T/M, FFP and CPFF contracts.
*Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
*Duties require broad conceptual judgment, initiative and ability to deal with accounting issues.
*This position requires the ability to maintain an excellent level of customer service.
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
*Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
*2-4 years of accounting experience.
*Experience with outsourced payroll processing
*Proficient with desktop computing platforms and applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
*Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
*Must have demonstrated the ability to prioritize and successfully handle multiple tasks
*Applicants must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
