Healthcare Trainer

job summary:
The goal of this position is to give short term provider support to improve care and documentation processes. You will educate small panel sized providers and office staff on proper clinical documentation, coding, and billing practices, state-mandated quality metrics specifications, provider profiling and pay for performance measurement, to drive quality improvement. The Provider Relations Advocate is responsible for a range of provider communications and service interactions including working on engaging providers, end-to-end program processes and external provider education programs.

Qualifications: (must have)

  • Strong customer service orientation to be able to work in collaboration and promote positive relations with external and internal stakeholders; a team player
  • Knowledge of health insurance claims
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to educate providers and office staff; communicate effectively to facilitate a positive working relationships and achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to travel to physician offices locally up to 75% of the time
  • Detail oriented, and enjoys the challenge of learning, exploring, and finding answers, as well as someone who is rewarded by implementing or changing a quality improvement process, and then monitoring the resulting success in the quality outcomes for members/providers.
Preferred qualifications: (nice to have)

  • Prior experience with Medicare and DSNP populations
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: preventive health standards, performance measures, clinical standards of care, and CMS regulatory requirements
  • Ability to present performance measure reports while assessing trends and ability to identify opportunities for improvement; work on discovering root causes for specific member care trends/data variations and communicate to appropriate team members
  • Familiarity with medical records to be able to, through auditing records, determines appropriate coding and billing practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert collecting, analyzing and presenting data experience/background.
  • Must have reliable internet set up
