Accounting Manager

job summary:
Fast growing, public biotech company is looking for a Accounting Manager, reports to the CFO managing day to day accounting and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of the company's financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Manage and execute the month-end close process including journal entries, clinical trial accruals and account reconciliations. In addition, responsible for the preparation and interpretation of monthly financial statements as well as variance analyses against budget.
  • Maintain the general ledger (NetSuite) including all sub-ledgers as well as system reports.
  • Evaluate vendor contracts and company operations in order to prepare accurate monthly expense accruals.
  • Process and manage an outsources multi-state payroll function.
  • Supervise an outsourced Accounts Payable function to ensure accurate recording of accounts payable transactions and accruals.
  • Supervise sales commission calculations, T&E expense reporting and business vehicle reimbursement program.
  • Assist management with external audit requirements including SEC reporting requirements.
  • Make and implement recommendations to improve system efficiencies, accounting processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Be a trusted partner to the Finance team in order to ensure Company meets all of its financial objectives.
Requirements:

BS degree

CPA a plus

7+ years of related experience

Experience with NetSuite a plus
