DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accounting Analyst will report to the Controller and support the Finance and Accounting Department. Candidate will be motivated and have the ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team environment. We are looking for an individual with the ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. This individual will be primarily responsible for the following tasks:

Daily Responsibilities

  • Process payables for all owner entities and properties with attention to proper GL coding.
  • Prepare wire transfers and ACHs, with related support for accounting entries.
  • Print checks for approved payables while complying with company's internal controls
  • Record corporate cost allocations to the various operating assets on a monthly basis and prepare related intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Prepare deposit slips for checks received and post the corresponding entries to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly cash reconciliations for assigned entities' bank accounts.
  • Upload property trial balances into Yardi accounting software and verify data transfer was successful.
  • Update monthly fixed asset activity schedules to be uploaded into fixed asset accounting software.
  • Assist the accounting team in preparing work papers or other projects as needed.
  • Provide administrative support such as copying and scanning documents and answering the phone lines, preparing emails to investors and property management team.
Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Yardi experience is a plus.
