Tax Manager

job summary:
Randstad is thrilled to represent and partner with one of the best global asset management organizations in the industry to add a new Tax Manager to join their growing team in the Nation's Capital!

The Manager will work closely with other members of the Finance organization, especially all members of the tax team, the US and regional (Europe, Asia and Latin America) Corporate Accounting teams, and corporate accounting teams, FP&A and Treasury teams. The Tax Department is responsible for global tax matters, including, but not limited to, financial reporting for tax, global tax matters, tax compliance, planning and analyzing tax considerations.

Provision

  • Responsible for quarterly tax provisions of various entities in the structure, both domestic and international under ASC 740
  • Involvement in tax aspects and reporting from the Accounting System (PeopleSoft)
  • Monitor the management company's foreign tax credit and foreign sourced income position for both GAAP and Non-GAAP reporting
  • Lead the provision tax team by providing guidance related to the completion of tax work papers and detailed analyses needed in order to complete various tax functions.
  • Monitor and document existing and new uncertain tax positions and coordinate with external advisors to evaluate the firm's FIN 48 positions.
  • Review financial statement data for firm entities and determine required book/tax adjustments;
  • Ensure that SOX documentation on quarterly tax provision is prepared and assembled for Internal Audit's review.
*Minimum of 5-8 years public accounting or private industry accounting experience, required

*Direct experience supervising Tax Seniors and Tax Staff

*Experience with tax provision calculations under ASC 740 preferred

*Partnership tax and tax compliance experience preferred

*Private equity experience preferred

*Accounting degree required

*Masters of Accountancy/Tax degree preferred

*CPA preferred

*Self-starter

*Strong Excel skills essential

*Strong interpersonal skills

*Strong organizational and project management skills

*Excellent communication skills - both written and oral

*Strong presentation skills

*Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
