Accounting Assistant

job summary:




As part of the Commission/Customer Rebate team, the Accounting Assistant - Spiffs/Agency assists in providing accurate, timely financial data to individuals across all levels of the organization.

This department maintains, reconciles, and processes payments of customer rebates for sales representatives. Additionally, this department maintains, reconciles, and processes the commission program for sales representatives including Spiff and Agency payments.











Essential Functions (Major Duties)











Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Transact all business in accordance to Patterson Companies business code of ethics and conduct.
  • Administer proper assignment of spiff programs per the agreements between Patterson Vet/Animal Health International and our manufacturing partners.
  • Evaluate spiff programs along with available sales data to come up with the best procedure and calculation to accurately capture rep spiff totals.
  • Assist in the billing, reconciliation, and reimbursement of all manufacturer Spiff programs.
  • Assist in reconciling monthly agency data to ensure accurate sales rep mapping.
  • Compare and analyze multiple sets of data to find inconsistencies in payments and possible missing rep payments.
  • Assist in researching sales incentive differences between Animal Health International Inc., the vendor, or the sales rep.
  • Answer questions from Sales People and Management about spiff qualifications, payout calculations, and discrepancies.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of GL accounts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • Confirmable experience will be considered in lieu of degree
