Analytics Consultant

job summary:
Now is your chance to join a team with one of the largest financial services providers in the world! They are seeking an Analytics Consultant to perform the most complex activities associated with developing financial statements and reports.

Duties may include:

Recommending, implementing and communicating practices and procedures for financial control; providing in-depth business analysis and developing long-term strategies to optimize group or company performance; reviewing data for financial and regulatory reports; researching and responding to questions regarding information found in regulatory reports; conducting research and analysis to develop financial data for reports.

May review accuracy of data from various financial systems. Provide functional advice or training to lower level accounting positions. Apply extensive specialized knowledge and acts as internal consultant or final authority in area of expertise.

Supports management reporting for the Basel III Standardized and Advanced Approaches. The individual will be heavily involved in the reporting process and analyzing the risk-based capital results across external reports such as FR Y9-C (HC-R), Call Report (RC-R), FR Y-14Q, Pillar 3, FFIEC101 and FFIEC 102. Additionally, the candidate will perform variance analysis, support the interaction with internal/external audit and Regulatory Agencies. They will also be responsible for the maintenance of and compliance with procedures and controls, ensuring calculations comply with the regulations. The individual will help with analysis for issues and errors and performing cross report impact analysis.

Skill & Background Requirements:

  • 6+ years finance/accounting experience.
  • Regulatory Reporting and specifically Basel Capital related experience preferred
  • Must have financial services background
  • Abilities to write SQL queries
  • Strong product knowledge with an understanding of how they are reported in various reports
  • Strong communications skills, written and verbal - significant interaction with offshore resources, LOBs, risk streams, senior managers, and with regulators
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities at the same time within tight deadlines, demonstrating excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Bachelor's degree
