WHO WE ARE:

We are working with a reputable financial services firm located in Downtown Boston who is in need of a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role is responsible for detailed processing of multi-state payroll and is an ongoing contract to hire position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, the essential functions will include:

  • Process accurate and timely semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls in a multi-state environment using ADP.
  • Field timesheet related inquiries from employees and provide responses timely and professionally.
  • Timesheet review/processing for adherence to company policy and payment of overtime.
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts
  • Perform regular pre and post audits to ensure payroll accuracy.
WHO YOU ARE:

The ideal Senior Payroll Specialist will possess:



  • BS degree in Accounting or equivalent payroll-related work experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of multi state payroll processing experience
  • Payroll and U.S. tax law experience, including W2 and taxable fringe benefits.
  • Knowledge of ADP and MS Excel required. Experience with MS Access & Lawson a plus.
  • Excellent attention to details, strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all staff types and levels and interact in a service-oriented, deadline-driven environment.
