Director of External Reporting

job summary:
JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the preparation of the Company's public filings with the SEC. Serve as a key technical accounting resource within the Company. The individual will have a strong executive presence coordinating up and down the corporate finance chain. Collaborate extensively with accounting, finance, tax, legal, investor relations, operations, treasury, compensation/benefits and other key business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS / QUALITIES

- Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required.

- Big 4 / Top Tier public accounting experience required.

- 10+ years of experience in financial consolidations, financial statement preparation and reporting. Multi-national company experience strongly preferred.

- 5+ years of experience leading professional accounting team.

- Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

- Proficient with financial accounting/reporting and Microsoft Office Suite software.

- Knowledge of major integrated systems such as SAP and Hyperion.

- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Capable of interacting with staff,

peers, senior leadership, and external audit team.

- 10+ years of extensive experience at SEC registrants, through public accounting, industry or a

combination

- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem?solving, skills. Including

ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reporting rules and regulations, technical

guidance, and related industry publications

- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) - precise, clear, unambiguous and

comfortable with communicating at all levels from Board level above down to staff level

- Drives Both Strategic and Day to Day

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Direct, coach and mentor the External Reporting & Technical Accounting Team including professional development and performance reviews.

- Lead the preparation of annual and periodic SEC filings (Form 10-K/Form 10-Q and related XBRL requirements

- Lead the preparation and/or review of quarterly earnings materials (or other materials prepared by Investor Relations) and ensure accuracy and consistency of such materials with other SEC filings, as applicable.

- Research and summarize the expected accounting and financial reporting/disclosure implications of significant routine and non-routine transactions or other technical accounting issues.

- Monitor communications from standard-setting bodies, accounting firms and other external sources to remain apprised of new accounting pronouncements, frequent areas of SEC staff comment, and interpretive accounting and disclosure guidance and provide guidance to senior leadership regarding potential impacts.

- Lead the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and provide training to domestic and international locations on the effects of new accounting pronouncements and other technical accounting issues as needed.

- Serve as a technical accounting resource for international locations with statutory filings in IFRS and various local GAAP requirements.
