Senior Accountant SEC Reporting

job summary:
As a key member of the Financial Reporting team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with preparation of the Company's annual and quarterly SEC filing reports. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position will require the individual to frequently work independently and will require competence and confidence in interacting with others at all levels within the organization. Areas to be developed in this function include accounting knowledge, analytical skills, organizational skills, project management skills, research skills, and written and oral communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and filing of the Company's SEC documents, including financial statement and financial statement footnotes
  • Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of work papers as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with the Financial Reporting team by communicating effectively, completing tasks assigned in the timeframe provided, and being flexible to assist with other tasks or issues
  • Prepare special analyses and research accounting treatment for accounting issues as assigned by management
  • Conduct business with the highest ethical standards
  • Complete XBRL tagging for SEC filings
  • Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four year University in Accounting, M.S. degree is preferred
  • 4+ years of public accounting and/or SEC reporting responsibilities (10-K and 10-Q preparation and filing experience)
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
