Securities Accountant

job summary:
Securities Accountant - Whippany, NJ

  • This is a contract role expected to last 12 months.
  • This position will be part of a global team tasked with securities trade processing and cash movements for a multi-billion dollar portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting securities trade operations as well as the closing and administration syndicated bank loans and private placements in a fast-paced environment. This seasoned team tackles a multitude of tasks across a broad spectrum of products and transactions. The group works as a team moving from task to task which includes settling private and public trades interfacing with the trading desk as well as our Portfolio management to insure the larger investment group can be nimble in the market place.
Securities Accountant - Job Duties:

  • Primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate trade details for various US and International public security types; performing timely confirmation and settlement of these trades; and post-settlement activities such as SPO/CTAS processing and TMPG claim validation.
  • Administration of the global trade order systems to monitor the security master attributes, trade detail and security positions maintained by the Securities Middle Office
  • Administration of syndicated bank loans' various facility types (term loans, delay draws, revolvers, letter of credit); processing of unfunded commitments: recording & calculation of trade fees; and processing of amendments, repricing and cashless rolls.
  • Performing activities related to funding private placements deals such as providing Schedule As, which includes PNI, settlement instructions, and Notification information of the deal, to outside counsel and review draft legal documents for the organization 3rd parties; reviewing & directing enrichment of security masters as per legal documents; and confirming private placement trades on Aladdin
  • Researching breaks on reconciliations between trade order system and custody, between accounting and trade order systems, or others reconciliations of trade or position data
  • Communication with analysts, traders and portfolio management as well as back office stakeholders
Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in investment operations, trade support, trade settlements, bank loan closings, private placements support, and/or settlements
  • Functional experience with BlackRock's Aladdin, MarkIt/ClearPar, and Bloomberg's platforms, as well as online banking platforms, is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and problem solving skills are required.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel + Word).
