Seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant comfortable with hands on accounts payable as well as GL grants related accounting.

  • Performs monthly close procedures including journal entries and account analysis, and month end reconciliation with trial balance on select accounts.
  • Reconciles Master credit card account and enters into accounts payable system.
  • Assist in reviewing and approving invoices and travel reimbursement., processing the check disbursements.
  • Manages the organization's daily accounting functions including monitoring cash balances, making deposits, completing journal entries, and reconciling bank account.
  • Enter all membership, registration and exhibitor/sponsorship payments to Financial Edge.
  • Support with monthly close which includes but not limited to calculating overhead, recording revenue, generating monthly activity statements and invoices, and tracking payments when needed
  • Ensure that invoicing reflect actual amounts to be paid per contractual terms and meet the requirements of the planned activities for grants and programs
  • MUST HAVE Blackbaud and AVID experience.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan proactively to meet various reporting deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and experience with accounting system software (Financial Edge) and other database applications
  • Proven skills with principles and practices of federal grants administration, including familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance.
  • Strong analytical skills
