SUMMARY:

A well-established non-profit in Boston is seeking to add a Grant Accountant to their team on a contract to hire basis.The Grant Accountant is responsible for tracking and allocating state, federal and local grants, as well accounting functions to ensure compliance and accurate financial information

JOB DETAILS:

The day to day responsibilities of the Grant Accountant include:

  • Utilize accounting system for all daily, weekly and month functions, including payroll distributions, payables, receivables, fixed assets, financial statement preparation, using GAAP
  • Support monthly grant invoicing process as appropriate, including all documentation
  • Review, prepare and submit grant financial forms and reports in accordance with grant stipulations; confirm dates to file for extension on funding if necessary
  • Assist Grant Management team in budget preparation, revisions and analysis, as well as month, quarter and year end closing procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for the Grant Accountant position will possess:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field of study
  • 3-5 years' experience working with complex federal grants and government regulations and compliance procedures within a non-profit organization
  • Knowledge and previous utilization of an ERP system, such as Oracle or SAP
  • Advanced Microsoft skills, including Word and Excel
