job summary:
A Northern California pharmaceutical and consumer product company is seeking a Market Analyst.

The Analyst will generate, manage, import, map and deliver sales, business intelligence and marketing reports from multiple resources by product line. The candidate will analyse competitors' market share and advise the company on competitive intelligence. The candidate will develop composite monthly, quarterly and annual sales and competitive marketing analytics in Tableau and senior level presentations. This is a highly visible role and the candidate will have the opportunity to present to high level management leaders. The Market Analyst will also estimate logistics purchases projections by product line and provide inventory forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Generate Analytics Dashboards in Excel and Tableau that show our year to date sales and marketing operational performance, including our year to date investments and quarterly estimates to budget
  • Maintain, develop and deliver ad hoc financial data, economic reports and business presentations for finance, marketing, business development and sales departments
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process by creating forward-looking analytical models
  • Increase understanding of marketing effectiveness and ROI of all promotional efforts, including in-store and online marketing efforts and advise on the placement and targeting of future initiatives
  • Work closely with Finance, Marketing, Sales and Operations leaders to continually develop marketing financial and tactical performance forecasts and optimize our marketing spend
  • Improve timeliness of our purchasing forecasts efforts and work with logistics on the monthly orders made to the factory
  • Analyze competitors' market share data and advise the company on competitive intelligence
  • Collect and analyze competitors' data on market shares and consumption of products within North America
  • Populate business presentations and analytical dashboards and reports for senior management
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance or Marketing
  • 1-3 years' experience
  • Proficiency in Excel (Advanced a plus), Visual Basic and other statistical tools
  • Experience with Tableau, Qlik, Power BI and/or other visualization software a plus.

    • Proven mastery of all MS Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Capacity for statistical modeling and advanced statistical analysis
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Able to synthesize critical actionable insights from multiple sources utilizing collaboration and shared accountability
  • Excellent time management skills with solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply well-rounded business acumen and analytical skills to resolve complex business problems and deliver meaningful business recommendations
  • Must be strong with data, able to manage a project from start to finish
  • Independent, resourceful, takes initiative and can build strong relationships
