Growing multi-billion dollar organization in the BWI corridor is seeking an Accounts Payable Director for a newly created role. This department was previously located out of state, and the executive leadership team is looking to add an Accounts Payable Director to bring this function in-house to their corporate shared services HQ in Baltimore. This is an extremely stable organization, offering a progressive compensation package for an experiences accounts payable professional. Light travel required in the first year (~10% travel, winding down to no travel once the department is fully functional in Baltimore).

responsibilities:
The AP Director will be a contributing member of the senior management team and will prepare weekly and monthly metrics to the Controller and C-level Suite. The Director will also contribute to the development and management of an AP shared services dashboard. The incumbent will oversee the travel card program for the multi-billion dollar organization, and act as the liaison to the payroll and HR departments to process disbursement payments. In addition, this person will lead and guide 5+ accounts payable staff that will process over 750 purchase orders and traditional invoices per week.

 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study highly preferred
  • 7+ years' progressive experience in the field of accounts payable in a shared services environment
  • 5+ years' management experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high volume/high pressure environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10% in the first year
