Accounting Finance Manager

job summary:
An Eastside company is looking to bring on an Accounting-Finance Manager for the next 9 months to oversee the budget operations. This position works with the Digital, Finance, and Procurement teams directly and helps with budgeting. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the budget: handling POs, accruals, invoices, etc.
  • Works closely with Procurement and vendors to ensure that obligations are met
  • Acts as point of contact between Digital, Finance and Procurement
  • Support quarterly and annual planning cycles for CAPEX and OPEX
  • Support monthly reporting to Finance
EXAMPLE DAILY TASKS:

  • Create and manage purchase orders
  • Review new non-PO and PO invoices. Confirm validity and reject or seek approvals as needed
  • Ensure goods receipts are properly performed and on track with forecast
  • Keep track of current contracts, including expiration and renewal dates. Ask Procurement for help with new and in-process contracts. Review contract terms for potential early termination options
  • Ensure vendors are submitting invoices in a timely fashion and consistent with contracts
  • Pull reports from SAP and update spend reporting. Identify potentially incorrect costs and fix
  • Update budget forecast based on input from business partners. Report forecast changes to Finance weekly
  • Keep track of accruals needed at month-end
  • Escalate any system issues or concerns with vendors
  • Continuously improve operational processes
QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree

Work Experience:

- At least 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Budget operations

- Great time management and organizational skills

- Financial Planning and Forecasting

- Financial & Mathematical analysis

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to manage small projects and to identify process improvement opportunities

Characteristics:

- Proactive in anticipating and preempting potential problems
