Tax Director

The Tax Director will be responsible for the compliance with all domestic (federal, state & local) direct and indirect corporate tax laws and will ensure that all tax reporting requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that inter-company transfer prices are appropriately established and documented.
  • Oversee the creation and retention of working papers, studies and other documentation to make sure proper determination and reporting of taxes in each jurisdiction as well as to facilitate tax authority examination and avoid penalties.
  • Evaluate all tax reporting options are available (i.e. tax accounting methods, elections and other claimed positions) to minimize the organization's taxes.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, rulings, court cases, etc.
  • Advocate for the company with legislative and administrative authorities by recommending improvements in tax laws and regulations and in their administration.
  • Select and implement information systems that improve the quality, accuracy and efficiency of tax reporting.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Taxation or Accounting (Master's degree in Taxation and/or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years relevant tax experience (in public accounting or industry).
  • 5+ years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated managerial experience supervising teams of 5 or more people.
