Director of Business Development
Details: Looking for Irvine, CA.
R&D Background with Product Development in the Life Sciences space (focus on new products).
Role is customer acquisition, launching brand new entities, and investing in new companies in the life sciences space in order to expand the current portfolio.
The team consists of Researchers and Engineers, that are responsible for creating new ideas and prospects. The size of the team reporting to them depends on the new business that the Director will be bringing in (Projects), starting with a team of 5, but will vary on the number of projects at a time that are being managed. Deal sizes vary from $10M to $100M+.
The focus of the role is to maximize business in the global test drug market (U.S) and adopt new business development in cross-border deals. The role has full technical responsibility for interpreting organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Plans and directs research projects. Coordinates research and development activities between disciplines.

New Business Development:
- Search for seeds - Discovery of new technologies.
-Strategic business alliances with U.S companies.
- Formulation of new U.S Business portfolio strategy.
-Collaboration with Universities and research institutions
- Society lobbying activities
Management of existing U.S Business:
-Business development team theme management
-Management of existing HCAR theme
-KOL & Vendor management
-Specialization in Medical/Pharmaceutical/Scientific sectors preferred.
-Good background and deep knowledge of the diagnostics business.
-MBA degree or higher preferred.
-Minimum of 8 years of experience in science or engineering.
-Minimum of 5 years in a Director level position.
