Payroll Consultant

job summary:
San Francisco based college looking for a temporary Payroll Consultant for a 2-3 month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support and assist the client with day-to-day payroll needs including, but not limited to, making client-directed system changes, processing on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls, importing payroll hours, processing payroll modifications/corrections, conducting payroll audits and reviewing/delivering payroll reports
  • Partner with payroll and tax operations, product and engineering teams to resolve client needs
  • Leverage deep understanding of current payroll and tax concepts/regulations to act as a partner in ensuring accurate payroll processing
  • Analyze and form a thorough understanding of each client's unique payroll needs
  • Serve as the main point of contact for payroll and tax questions
  • Collaborate with a team experts in HRIS, Benefits and HR Consulting on assigned book of business
Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with multi-corporation, multi-state payroll processing, including experience with payroll, tax and wage and hour regulations
  • Minimum AA degree required
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Proven ability to successfully build strong relationships with clients
  • Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally while advocating for client's best interest
  • Ability to use critical thinking, complex problem solving skills and independent judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
