Human Resource Generalist

job summary:
Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the development of a superior workforce through recruitment of qualified candidates utilizing technology and today's recruiting best practices.
  • Manage recruitment activities such as placing employment ads, scheduling interviews, screening applicants, processing background checks/drug and capabilities testing, and tracking the selection of applicants.
  • Responsible for on-boarding process for new employees.
  • Administration of company benefits; including new benefits enrollment, open enrollment process and manage appropriate medical/FMLA/WC leaves of absence.
  • Confer with payroll to ensure correct disability/PTO payment is processed for leaves of absence.
  • Manage worker's compensation process: administer claims process; act as primary liaison, Occupational Medicine providers, and the Employee.
  • Handle the administration of the 401(k) plan.
  • Lead, coordinate, and schedule corporate Activities and Outreach Committees
  • Run ad hoc reports related to HR metrics and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the HR Director on HR initiatives and major projects.

qualifications:
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Human Resource Management. Commensurate experience or professional certification may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years of related experience as a generalist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • High level of discretion/confidentiality.
  • Must be proficient in PC applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, HR database). Experience with ADP preferred.
