Payroll Collections - Gen Support

job summary:
Payroll Collections

Provide general admin Payroll team support including employee over-payment collections, daily mail intake and prep of outgoing mail, work Payroll audit reports, other admin tasks as assigned.

Areas of Responsibility:

As a backup to the Payroll Collections Specialist, processes collections using knowledge of departmental procedures and documents all work.

Reviews timekeeping exception and audit reports. Identifies and takes appropriate actions.

Reviews all incoming mail and takes appropriate action to save, respond to, distribute to intended parties, etc.

Prepares and mails wage garnishment paperwork to ADP.

Assembles and mails outgoing collection letters to employees and former employees.

Reviews and updates cases in the internal ServiceNow case management system.

Investigates and answers questions regarding collection issues.

Maintains master collections spreadsheet of all amounts owed and paid and current status of collection efforts.

Provides ideas for improvement on the collection process to increase efficiency.

Maintains sensitive collections information with a high degree of confidentiality.

Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Minimum: 1-2 years of experience in collections or payroll processing.

- Strong PC skills, preferred experience working in PeopleSoft.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills with a team approach to problem solving.

- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with collection and payroll information.
