Staff Accountant

job summary:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join it's team on a long term contract. This position will also be in charge of posting daily cash receipts, general ledger reconciliations and fixed assets tagging.

responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring that transactions are accurately explained and supported
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely account reconciliations and key schedules
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
  • Prepare accurate year-end audit schedules and deliverables
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation
  • Support the Financial Controller with special projects, ad-hoc research, and analysis
  • Play a critical role in the implementation and management of new accounting software
  • Handle critical day-to-day accounting functions, including AR, AP, etc.
  • Support our emerging business opportunities to ensure accurate GL accounting
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
  • 3+ years of Corporate and GL accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting concepts, and financial statements
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft business suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
  • Experienced and proficient with ERP systems
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong work-ethic, initiative, and drive for improvement and success
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to seek out, identify, and make process improvements
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive and flexible work attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
