job summary:
The Business Analyst position supports the Global Customer Solutions Group and is primarily responsible for defining and documenting requirements for one or more concurrent projects or work streams including legacy platform enhancements as well as digital transformation initiatives. Qualified candidates should be able to analyze business needs, partner and effectively communicate with various stakeholders and document requirements and/or map business processes clearly and succinctly to solve for gaps and support solutions. The role is responsible for working with Business Users & Stakeholders to define and document comprehensive business requirements and test strategy(s), as well as execute test scripts and track defects.

- Able to create and/or ensure creation of business requirements and other required project documentation

- Facilitate meetings, assists in the resolution of issues, and manages changes in scope

- Create and administers program plans and documentation, and reports on program status using defined templates

- Develop knowledge transfer plan in conjunction with product SME's

- Shadow current SME's and conduct thorough knowledge transfer

- Communicate with senior program manager, functional area manager, or program manager regarding status of specific programs or work streams

- Manage issue and risk items for program manager

- Run program meetings and creates meeting minutes and/or status reports in absence of strategic program managers

Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Interviewing individuals within partner areas, gathering information and performing analysis

- Working with business users, business SMEs and IT to create business requirements that meet the needs of all stakeholders

- Documenting and communicating all relevant information on a timely fashion, including information required to document and support remediation of issues and risks

- Conducting business requirement walk throughs and obtaining stakeholder sign-off. Assisting in prioritization process as required

- Effectively communicating with business users and partners to support the delivery of projects

- Creation & execution of test plans, test cases, & detailed test scripts

- Coordination with other BAs as needed

- Documentation of key business processes, user experiences, and business rules supporting the digital servicing experiences

- Ability to back up project manager and report on status vs. roadmaps, project plans, milestones, and budgets to ensure timelines and deliverables are met

- 5-7 years of related work experience. 2-5 years of direct experience with a consulting firm and/or in the insurance and financial industry writing clear and concise business requirements or feature stories

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Information Sciences or other quantitative field of study

- Strong ability to elicit and document business requirements, and identify potential issues

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate clearly and effectively in support of detailed problem solving, managerial escalation and status reporting.

- Knowledge of SDLC's including exposure to Agile methodologies

- Some knowledge of user experience concepts is helpful.

- Ability to build relationships with clients and partners, and work with multiple levels of management

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

- Ability to manage multiple and sometimes changing priorities against aggressive schedules

- Advanced skills in business management tools including: Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Access and SharePoint
