Cash Application Specialist

have a deep understanding of accounting software? We are hiring an Cash Application Specialist for a large company downtown. This can be a stepping-stone to a supervisor, if you have the willingness to learn and grow with the company.
You will frequently interact with higher levels of management where you will need to
be a strong communicator. A positive, can-do attitude, strong organizational skills
and ability to prioritize and multitask will help you be successful in this role.

Performing cash accounting functions by reviewing, verifying and reconciling accounts.
Captures accounting transactions using financial systems.
Post daily receipts (wires/achs/checks) on a timely basis in order to ensure accurate maintenance of accounts receivable balances
Reconcile cash accounts daily to make sure that all items are accounted for
Reports to the Manager, Cash Accounting and is accountable for producing accurate and credible results.
Resolve and adjust bank accounts for discrepancies between General Ledger and bank statements to ensure financial statements are accurate.
Responsible for reviewing variances and ensuring consistency in accounting processes.
Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
1-3 years' experience in accounts receivable / cash application area required
Basic accounting programs and software knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
Strong organization and prioritization skills and problem-solving ability
