Payroll Specialist

job summary:








A local Non-Profit has an immediate temporary need for a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will support the payroll processing to ensure that payroll is accurate and timely processed. This includes the calculation of gross to net pay and withholding's. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing customer service and answer payroll related questions, as well as, liaise with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate reporting of data in the payroll system.

Requirements:

  • Prepares and processes the timesheets into the payroll system. Reviews and updates paychecks based on information provided by HR for the current payroll.
  • Calculates the payroll from timesheet data and HR employee changes to derive gross pay.
  • Audits the HR changes report which contains all employee payroll related changes for the pay period, interpret the data in the reports and then update current payroll.
  • Prepares manual checks, updates garnishments, taxes and direct deposit changes.
  • Audits the payroll preview reports for accuracy each pay period.
  • Responds to Payroll Help Desk tickets including research and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Maintains and adheres to internal controls and reporting related to payroll transactions.
  • Adhoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of Payroll Processing experience.
  • UltiPro/Ultimate Software is a plus!
  • FCP or CPP certification is a plus!
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel.
  • Be detail-oriented and have excellent analytical and auditing skills
