Sr. Accounting Manager

job summary:
Senior Accounting Manager is a member of the corporate accounting team and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of the company's long-term investment activities and oversees the corporate general ledger, chart of accounts and other financial systems.

Job Functions:

- Oversee the accounting for the company's long-term corporate investments, including carried interest allocations from the general partner perspective

- Review capital call and distribution entries

- Review capital account balance reconciliations

- Review and approve wires and wire templates

- Monitor cash balances and review bank reconciliations

- Perform month-end close activities, including but not limited to:

- Financial statement review, reconciliations and analysis

- Review and investigate account variances

- Manage global fixed assets accounting

- Develop and publish high quality routine and ad-hoc investment and analytics reporting for various departments

- Create/redesign/enhance existing reporting framework to meet evolving needs

- Establish and manage a schedule of reporting deliverables to meet various deadlines

- Help manage the monthly financial close process

- Manage all aspects of the general ledger and chart of accounts

- Manage accounting software templates and maintain consistent processes across subsidiaries

- Help lead implementation and upgrades of financial systems that facilitate efficient operation and financial management of the organization

- Perform other duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate


- Minimum of ten years of progressive accounting experience

- Prior Public Accounting experience preferred (Big 4 preferred)

- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role required

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

- Familiarity with investment partnership reporting preferred

- Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs

- NetSuite experience a plus

- Acute attention to accuracy and detail

- Excellent verbal, written communication, and strong problem-solving skills

- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines

- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting concepts

- Adept at learning new software
