Property Staff Accountant

job summary:
Mission Rock Residential Property Accountant

The primary purpose of the Property Accountant is to maintain accurate books, records and issuing financial statements for a portfolio of multi-family properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepares and enters journal entries for month end close not limited to accruals, amortization, capitalization and true up entries. - Reconciles bank accounts - Preparation of ACH and wires when necessary - Prepare and reconcile balance sheet account schedules - Calculate management fees, owner's distributions, funding requests and cash analysis - Reviews accounts payable invoices and checks for accuracy - Review accounts receivable for reasonableness and ensures reporting accuracy - Review monthly balance sheet and income statement to ensure accuracy - Assists in the analysis and variance explanations for the financial statements - Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation worksheets - Communicate with on-site staff to resolve Yardi issues and provide accounting support - Assist with the preparation of annual budget and review of final budget - Complies with Company policies and procedures, accounting policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. - Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required from an accredited four-year college or university - Minimum of 1-3 years accounting experience - Knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook - Real estate accounting experience preferred - Experience with Yardi, MRI, Great Plains, MAS 90/200, MSI or AMSI - Ability to following established procedures - Ability to read, understand and analyze financial statements - Ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) - Ability to perform cash forecasting and planning - Capable of working independently - Ability to set goals - Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately, timely and consistently - Ability to meet deadlines timely, accurately, and consistently - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to multitask - Detail-oriented - Strong organizational skills

qualifications:
