Staff Accountant

job summary:
A small, well respected Shelton area distribution company is in need of an Accountant to join their busy accounting team. The position reports directly to the Accounting Manager, with visibility to upper management. The ideal Staff Accountant candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment

responsibilities:
  • Extensive bank reconciliations
  • Accounts Receivable for suppliers, including statement analysis
  • Cash receipts and cash application
  • Accounts Payable for direct imports
  • Journal entries
  • Month-end close
  • Special projects as needed
 
qualifications:
  • BS /BA in Accounting required
  • Strong Excel skills are required (may be tested during interview process)
  • ERP knowledge required (Microsoft GP Dynamics, SAP, JDE, Lawson)
  • Ability to excel in a small team environment
Compensation : $50-60K depending on experience, potential for a discretionary bonus
