Administration Project Staff

job summary:
JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as a liaison between VPI and our mid to high level producing group accounts, while providing exemplary service to brokers and companies/groups offering pet insurance as a voluntary benefit to their employees/members. Analytical and critical thinking skills are used frequently to identify process efficiency improvements, and participation levels. This position includes a high level of interaction with various levels of HR and Company representatives, including brokers, account executives and company executives on a regular basis.

RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Supervisor

CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serves as a primary liaison between medium to high level producing groups/companies and VPI. Analyzes billing and remittance data coming into VPI as well as going back to company. Uses critical thinking skills to identify system issues, process efficiencies and assists with the development of corrections/fixes. Provides program efficacy analysis for clients including participation, claims utilization etc.

2. Verifies and posts details of business transactions including funds received and disbursed, new policies, and cancellation changes. Tracks all pertinent information regarding group statistics as required by group contracts and VPI.

3. Responsible for timely responses to policyholder inquiries, including but not limited to changing payment information and other miscellaneous endorsements. Processes and resolves dispute/complaint information from a variety of sources, including web, email, workflows, faxes and calls, providing a high level of customer service both to both internal and external customers.

4. Verifies all assigned groups cash is received into the department, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. for assigned accounts as well as reconciling premium.

5. Responsible for transmission and encryption formats, file structure and schedule, eligibility information and all other payroll deduction processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school studies; undergraduate studies in Finance, Business, or related field is preferred.

Experience: Typically 3-4 years of accounts receivable, billing, general accounting, or related experience in the insurance, banking, or finance industry.

Knowledge: Accounts Receivable, Billing, Accounting, Business, Insurance

Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Possess the ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Textpad, and CuteFTP. Having a working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Visio a plus. Have the ability to type minimum 30 WPM.
