job summary:
Role and Responsibilities

Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establishes schedules and methods for accounting/office-related functions; implements applicable policies and procedures in support of the Pastoral Offices.

Manage the day-to-day operations and functions of the financial/accounting office.?

Supervise one down-line (Accounting Assistant) and commensurate with Accounting Consultant) and participate in the following processes.

Accounts Payable

Invoice and check processing

Revenue Processing

Supervise a staff of three, process weekly offerings, event and fundraiser income.

Assistant to Church Administrator.

Provide clerical and administrative support as requested.

Financial Review Statement

Report Preparation

Prepare monthly council meeting reports

Ministry reports as requested

Support Church Administrator with Insurance Review

Worker's Compensation Audit

Year-end tax contribution statements

Year-end payroll processes

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

- IRS Regulations pertaining to non-profit associations;

- Technical and clerical accounting practices, financial record keeping and

reporting;

- Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment;

- Shelby Accounting Software Program, Microsoft Office, Google

SKILLS

- Ten-key numerical input;

- Type 45 net words per minute minimum;

- Accurate basic math calculations;

- Excellent attention to detail;

- Exercise sound independent judgment;

- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing

ABILITIES

To sit for more than six hours per day;

- For continuous data input several hours per day.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Minimum equivalency to completion of two-year college degree with major coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field.

Experience: Minimum three years of increasingly responsible experience in performing technical accounting duties.
