Payroll Specialist

job summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 2,000 to 4,000 + employees

in the US. This position requires strong payroll knowledge, attention to detail, organizational

and collaboration skills. This position will be based in the corporate headquarters located in Brentwood, MO and will report to the Sr. Payroll Manager.

responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the payroll processing of multiple states within the US with different payroll frequencies (weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly) under the direction of the Sr. Payroll Manager
  • Ensure the collection of hours from the Kronos Time and Attendance system with the plant locations
  • Gather information for related internal and external audits as required
  • Special projects and other duties assigned by the Sr. Payroll Manager
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with the Company's Record Retention policy
  • Assist with data entry/acceptance of payroll transactions (timesheets, status changes, new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, adjustments, manual checks, etc.) under the direction of the Sr. Payroll Manager
  • Assist with processing approved incentive, relocation and bonus payments
  • Assist with creating documentation for Disaster Recovery manual
  • Create GL file and send to Finance
  • Performs actions necessary to determine pay and deductions, including Federal and State taxes, insurance, 401k and other deductions
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies/balance payrolls as required
 
qualifications:
EDUCATION :

  • FPC/CPP preferred
EXPERIENCE:

  • 0-2 years of Payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with UltiPro, ADP or Ceridian preferred
SKILLS:

  • Must be detailed oriented and able to analyze data
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, written communication, and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-task oriented
  • Microsoft experience (Excel & Word)
  • Knowledge of FLSA, payroll laws and regulations required
  • Ability to analyze payroll issues and have a quick resolution
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Individual must practice strict confidentiality, regarding Payroll & Human Resource information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple tasks
