Bookkeeper

job summary:
My client, a CPA firm in Wethersfield CT, is looking for a bookkeeper.

This individual would be expected to provide bookkeeping services to clients. This would include posting transactions from client documents and assisting clients with bookkeeping issues. The bookkeeper will be responsible for providing timely, high-quality and accurate work. This individual will be expected to demonstrate professionalism at all times to deliver excellent client service. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide superb client service through interaction with clients and their staff, including on-site visits.
  • Prepare client invoices and statements, prepare bank deposits, prepare checks for client signature
  • Maintain general ledgers including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries, month-end and year end close.
  • Bank, brokerage, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Accounting for fixed assets and depreciation including the preparation of Property Tax declarations.
  • Preparation of client payroll, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, year-end W-2 and 1099 forms.
Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of industry related experience in a CPA or professional services firm preferred.
  • Certified QuickBooks Advisor designation a plus.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal direction while exercising good judgment/decision making.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times and deliver excellent client service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a pleasant, positive demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in with QuickBooks, Word and Excel required.
