Tax & Benefits Manager

job summary:
Responsibilities

Retirement/Benefit Plan Admin

  • Distribute all mandated participant notifications
  • Review and reconcile monthly DB plan trustee statements to track cash flow and expenses,
  • Coordinate and prepare reconciliations for annual financial statement audits
  • Review weekly action required reports issued by the plans' record-keeper
  • Update census data for annual valuation / discrimination testing purposes
  • Track and distribute benefits commencement packets to DB plan participants
  • Prepare Form 5500s for all defined benefit and defined contribution plans
  • Work, in conjunction with the Director of Tax and Benefits, to establish and execute procedures for administering the plans in compliance with IRS' & DOL's rules.
  • Serve as committee secretary for all retirement plans.
  • Coordinate payment of professional fees incurred
  • Maintain master files on all pension plan activity
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts pertaining to retirement and health & welfare benefits.
  • Perform routine review of beneficiary designations for 401(k) plans to ensure timely completion.


Tax Administration



  • Prepare annual property tax statements for all jurisdictions, locations, and entities; audit, track and timely pay all property tax invoices.
  • Prepare annual property tax expense budget.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts that track sales, property, and income tax.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly sales/ use tax filing for all entities.
  • Prepare quarterly estimated income tax calculations.
  • Prepare annual income tax provision calculation.
  • Assist in the preparation of the corporate income tax returns including but not limited to review of depreciation calculations for tax books, review tax credit calculations, and compile PBC package for tax return preparation firm.
  • Assist in research related to all special tax projects, as necessary.
  • Provide support for all forms of tax audits by government agencies.
  • Work in conjunction with IT, A/P, or any other relevant party, as necessary, to maintain sales tax rates in SAP
  • Serve as a source of contact to address all tax situations as they arise.

  • 4 year degree
  • 2-4 years of public accounting experience
  • Ability to multitask
