responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer various employment policies and procedures for all personnel, including attendance, job postings, paid time off, etc; assist in development, implementation, and training on policies and procedures; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of Company, HR Department and services performed.
  • Partake in HR strategies and initiatives and partake in the development and execution of a People Strategy. Assist HR Director with HR strategy initiatives, annual business plans and departmental budgets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for functional leaders and build strong business partnerships with management and staff, providing coaching and guidance to management and employees in all related employee/labor relation issues
  • Provide guidance and support to interpret and enforce Collective Bargaining Agreement, including the grievance process. Attend grievance meetings and make recommendations on improved processed based on metrics and data. Provide guidance and support to field operation locations for all labor relations' related matters
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations concerning employment; monitor employment related claims (unemployment, FMLA, EEOC, etc). Communicate changes in employment laws that affect Company
  • Oversee records, prepare reports, conduct data analysis and compose correspondence relative to the Human Resources function; assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals; participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars, and participate in development of department goals and objectives.
  • Partner with functional HR groups (compensation, recruitment, training, etc.) to meet the specific needs of the business
  • Coach and develop HR direct report(s)
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
 
qualifications:
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Prior experience within a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Six or more years' experience in Human Resources with core generalist experience
  • Minimum of five years' supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of IL employment and labor laws including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII, EEOC
  • Superior collaboration and communication skills with an executive presence and sound judgement
  • Strong planning, organizational and change management skills; also, conflict management abilities
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing Human Resource systems and programs
  • Demonstrated ability to support a fast-growing company with an entrepreneurial spirit; must be comfortable in a creative, flexible (as opposed to highly structured) environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing creative programs to enhance the company culture and overall employee experience and satisfaction
Preferred Requirements:

  • Professional in Human Resources designation (PHR, SPHR)
  • Ability to effectively communicate adherence to established policies in an matrixed departmental structure
  • Ability to relate to people of various ethnic, cultural and geographic persuasions
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) HR Manager
