job summary:
Seeking a Procurement Specialist for one of our Healthcare clients headquartered in the Tampa Bay area.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the procurement of a limited variety of commodities and/or services that are not highly technical or complex and may participate in the administration of procurement contracts led by higher level procurement team members.
  • Duties include reviewing requisitions. preparing invitations for bids/requests for proposals and purchase orders, evaluating bids and recommending awards to the requester.
  • A Buyer assists and advises user agency procurement staff with procurement policy and provides support and training on the Oracle i-Procurement application.
  • Work is performed both independently and under supervision of the Procurement Manager. ----
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ---- Note: The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties required of this position ---- Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews purchase requisitions for adequate specifications and scope of work proper descriptions and completeness of information.
  • Contacts requester to clarify information on requisitions or obtain additional information.
  • Creates maintains and monitors purchase orders and blanket purchase orders.
  • Assists associates. as requested. with their direct procurements of small commodities and services to include preparing invitations for bids/requests for proposals and purchase orders evaluating bids making awards conducting research and developing standards for new products or services.
  • As assigned. under general direction reviews and negotiates standard vendor contracts including but not limited to commodities quotes hotel agreements lead generation agreements etc.
  • Collects statistical and other information to support recommended actions to determine industry standards and price discounts and to locate commodities and services.
  • Responsible for unused PO close out and resolution of invoice/purchase order conflict.
  • Advises requester of policies and procedures for the procurement of commodities and/or services.
  • Provides on-going training and support to associates on the Oracle Internet Procurement application.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
