Job Description:

The Senior Accountant under direct supervision of the Accounting Manager will be an integral member of the accounting team focusing on general ledger operations, month end close and the preparation of certain financial analysis.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the Accounting month end close by:

    • Preparing and recording journal entries
    • Reviewing general journal entry batches
    • Compile, calculate, and develop accrual estimates on a monthly basis.
    • Preparing and analyzing month-end reports such as Actual v Budget, Project Expenses, Temp Labor, Professional Fees
    • Preparing monthly variance analysis for the balance sheet and income statement
    • Review intercompany accounts and reconcile
    • Reconciling certain GL accounts
  • Review staff accountant work to ensure adherence to GAAP and departmental accounting policies
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Review and maintain the accounting for inventory, benefit accounts, accruals, intercompany accounts, and goodwill & intangibles in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review accounting processes, accounts, and transactions for adherence to internal control structure
  • Reconcile clearing accounts for mileage reimbursement system transactions
  • Maintain accounting for the company credit card program through analysis and coding of transactions, reconciliation, and accruals
  • Assist in creating and maintaining various financial reports
Requirements:

  • B.S. Accounting, C.P.A. preferred
  • 3-4 years of combined public and private accounting experience
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Must have superior Excel skills
  • SAP, Oracle, Quickbooks or Great Plains
  • Must be a team player
  • Strives for constant improvement
