Accounting Manager

job summary:
Oversee daily operations including maintenance of the company's financial records, general accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, contract monitoring, and preparation of related financial reports.

Set-up and maintain projects in company's system. Work with project managers to design project set-up configurations that meet the billing and reporting requirements.

Prepare cost proposals, indirect cost submissions, annual internal audits, and other special reports.

Review expense reports and expense reimbursement to ensure proper charging

Monitor and manage the documentation of accounting policies and procedures and suggest improvement to current workflow.

Ensure that all registration and filing requirements imposed by federal, state and local laws are compliant.

Support the delivery of ad hoc financial information requests and analyses and other special projects as assigned.

Ensure timely preparation of semi-monthly payroll, adhering to all state and federal regulations.

Manage time and attendance reporting and processing.

Participate in decision-making regarding short and long-term strategic financial objectives.

qualifications:
Qualifications

6+ years' experience in accounting, preferably with a government contractor

Solid understanding of government contract accounting, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Experience with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) standards.

Experience with preparing cost proposals.

Comprehensive knowledge of cost reimbursable, time and material, and fixed price government contracts as well as commercial contracts.

Excellent time management skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline, is essential.
