Part Time Payroll Specialist

job summary:
Well-respected non-profit organization, focused on children and family services, is looking to bring on a Part Time Payroll Specialist to join the team.

Processing bi-weekly payroll, the Payroll Specialist will work 24 hours on payroll weeks and 16 hours on non-payroll weeks. As part of a team of 6, the Payroll Specialist will report directly to the Payroll Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 150 employees (both full time and part time)
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into ADP Workforce Now
  • Update payroll records: exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, terminations, new hires, and division transfers
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of taxes, earnings, deductions, leave, disability, nontaxable wages, etc.
  • Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes
  • Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Ensure paychecks are correct and delivered on time
  • Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP Workforce Now
  • Assist with processing accurate and timely year-end reports as needed (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll and benefits accounting experience (posting related journal entries, etc.)
  • Minimum 1 year of salaried and hourly payroll processing experience
  • Experience with Ultipro and/or ADP Workforce Now is a plus
