Payroll Accountant

job summary:
Responsibilities:

  • Assist in timely and accurate processing of clients' payroll
  • Review and verify timesheets, wage computations, and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain all payroll and employee records
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
  • Coordinate on-boarding and off-boarding process for client's employees
  • Track and reconcile leave balances for client's employees
  • Respond to requests for information, such as verifications of employment and UI claims
  • Assist in preparation of reports for various audits
  • Answer employee HR and payroll questions and concerns
  • Respond to client requests and inquiries
  • Handle special projects as needed for the Family Office management team
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience with 2+ years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing experience, as a paymaster, or worked for companies such as Paychex, ADP, SAP or Oracle and were required to answer customer questions while processing pay
  • Processed payroll for a minimum of 200 - 300 employees
  • Processed multiple payrolls in one day from beginning through end, including funding and benefits
  • Extensive experience with payroll processing software, such as Paychex and ADP
  • Experience processing employee benefits and other HR administrative duties
  • Payroll supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, in particular significant experience with Microsoft Excel; QuickBooks
  • Strong project management and client service skills
  • High attention to detail, problem solver & intellectually curious
  • Adhere to the highest level of confidentiality
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
