Title for this role: Sustainability Program Manager

Program manager to support sustainability reporting/disclosures, communications, and engagement, including:

Support sustainability reporting and disclosure program: Support corporate sustainability reporting and disclosure initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Support key sustainability reporting activities, including preparation of corporate annual Environmental Report, CDP report, and other associated reports
  • Read, interpret, and apply sustainability reporting frameworks and guidelines (i.e. CDP, TCFD, GRI, SASB, UNGC/SDGs)
  • Draft internal and external communication materials, including copy-editing, proofreading, and reviewing against internal and external guidelines; Write clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Coordinate internal review, revision, and version control processes for documents and publications
  • Review internal and external communications against public disclosures to ensure alignment
  • Conduct due diligence and QA/QC for environmental data and claims
  • Support engagement and communications with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders
  • Support project management including drafting, updating, and maintaining project documents; tracking schedules, action items, status, and results; organizing and coordinating meetings with stakeholders; and taking notes.
  • Support development and implementation of reporting and disclosure strategy
  • Conduct, analyze, and summarize internal and external research on sustainability-related topics.
Support internal employee engagement program: Support company's sustainability employee engagement initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Support employee engagement initiatives that enable greater internal awareness of sustainability programs (e.g. internal websites, newsletters, cross-functional workshops, events, etc.).
  • Support event planning, including drafting and updating communications, forms, internal sites, run-of-shows, etc., and coordinating event logistics
  • Support data analysis, verification, and visualizations, including setting, tracking, and communicating performance metrics
  • Review and respond to inbound sustainability inquiries
Other support: Support other sustainability programs and initiatives as needed, including but not limited to:

  • Work independently and execute established sustainability processes, drive sustainability projects with defined scope and complexity that require minimal guidance from higher level program managers
  • Basic project management such as project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and process documentation. Propose solutions and identify the need to develop or improve tools/processes.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in determining appropriate steps. Complete tasks outside of established processes when necessary
Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental topics, including energy, carbon, water, waste, and natural resources.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting guidelines and frameworks (i.e. CDP, TCFD, GRI, SASB, UNGC/SDGs) and ESG ratings/rankings (i.e. DJSI, MSCI, Sustainalytics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated proficiency tailoring format, style, and tone to different stakeholders and contexts whether in person, emails, documents, or presentations. Ability to write about complex topics in a clear manner that can be understood by diverse audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all organizational levels-from administrative personnel to technical experts to senior executives.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • Superb ability to analyze, synthesize, distill, and present information and to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, driving projects from idea through to implementation. Excellent prioritization, analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Good data management, analysis, and QA/QC skills.
  • Experience dealing with ambiguity and maintaining focus while working in a complex, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency working with GSuite (i.e. Gmail, Google Calendar, Sheets, Slides).
  • Flexibility when working across global time zones.
