AR Manager

job summary:
Position Summary: This hands-on role will manage the accounts receivable team. The ideal candidate will be a leader with experience in managing an accounting team, working closely with other teams within the Finance & Accounting organization as well as operations management.

The AR Manager will be responsible for collections on invoices, managing the month end, quarterly and annual closing processes, including the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and all financial reporting generated by the general ledger team through the review of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations. Manages, mentors and develops a high performing and collaborative general ledger team.

. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assist in all technical accounting matters, including; developing, maintaining and enforcing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP and other authoritative literature; leading analysis of the application of technical accounting standards to complex business issues and transactions; and providing well-supported documentation/white papers of positions and conclusions.
  • Perform bank reporting compliance activities, including preparation of debt compliance calculations and submission of periodic financial documentation.
  • Generate all financial statement reporting, including corporate level, division level reporting and reporting by line of business.
  • Provide support during the annual external audit, including the submission of client prepared documentation and report drafts
  • Support the Finance team in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Development of operational procedures and documentation of data flow
  • Development, in coordination with other departments, system controls to ensure data integrity
  • Serves as key participant for any system implementation, upgrades and system enhancement/ improvements
  • Builds and maintains business relationships with internal partners, including other departments
  • Coordinates and ensures timely follow-up and resolution of internal and external inquiries of general ledger related issues
  • Assists in special projects as necessary
Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Ten or more years of finance and accounting experience in a fast-paced, results-oriented, hands-on environment at a medium size company
  • Two or more years of previous people management experience, specifically in the general ledger area
  • Previous public accounting experience and CPA preferred
  • Ability to proactively identify and solve problems
  • Highly motivated, energetic team player with the capability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks with limited or minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, written, and oral communications skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with senior management as well as a multi-disciplined cross section of a geographically distributed corporate organization
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
