Our client is a fast growing global publicly traded services organization located in Philadelphia. Due to growth they are adding a new Technical, Accounting Manager to their team.The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards, and ensuring the application of GAAP to complex transactions. This position will be also responsible for performing technical accounting research, writing accounting position memoranda, creating accounting models and interacting with external auditors, while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.

responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for performing all technical accounting research related to complex accounting matters and documenting the Company's positions and comprehensive accounting treatment in memoranda such as Executive Stock Compensation, Severance and Restructuring Accruals.
  • Participates in the evaluation and determination of the proper accounting treatment and disclosure related to complex or unusual transactions.
  • Provide input and quality control for SEC filings, quarterly Earnings Releases, lender presentations and other ad hoc external reporting requirements including investor relation presentations.
  • Conduct research and document conclusions on specific US GAAP, and SEC disclosure and reporting developments.
  • Assisting in mergers, acquisitions, due diligence or dispositions of companies including valuation of the opening balance sheet accounts.
  • Review financial statements for completeness and accuracy for financial reporting/US GAAP compliance prior to publication.
  • Interact with external auditors to support the Company's accounting positions and facilitate an efficient audit and review process. Manage day-to-day coordination with external auditors, including quarterly reviews, annual financial statements, statutory audits, bank reporting, employee benefit plan audits, etc.
  • Serve as liaison on accounting and reporting matters to functions and divisions outside the corporate finance organization, including international subsidiaries.
  • Complete other special projects as needs arise.
 
qualifications:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience with progressive responsibility required; Big 4 Public or Tier 2 firm experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial disclosure requirements and techniques, including US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience of solving problems in areas of accounting complexity.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast paced and growth oriented environment.
  • Experience using all MS Office applications; strong knowledge of Excel required.
