Senior Accountant

job summary:
Electronics Company in Charlotte, North Carolina ,is hiring for a Senior Accountant to join their growing, finance department . This individual would be responsible for all general accounting, A/P, A/R and financial reporting functions and report directly to the Controller. Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience, be familiar with distribution business model, and inter-company and/or international accounting experience. Must possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and be detail-oriented. Must be proficient in MS Dynamics, SAP, or other accounting software equivalent and Excel. Mandarin or Spanish speaking is highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

- Perform the daily accounting functions including but not limited to A/P, A/R, Payroll and General Ledger, Cash Management

Month End Close - Preparation and posting of journal entries, review of general ledger activity and preparation of account reconciliations, bank reconciliations

- Inventory - assist with month end inventory count and perform inventory reconciliation

- Follow up with AR collections after timely month-end close

- Fixed assets - maintains fixed asset sub ledger; records depreciation. Responsible for periodic physical fixed asset count - Prepaid assets - maintains prepaid asset reconciliation; records prepaid assets and related amortization;

- Liabilities - responsible for ensuring accrued liabilities are recorded properly; works with outside vendors to track costs; and liability account reconciliation

- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements (P&L, cash flows and balance sheets, and present financial results and explanation of budget variances to management

- Prepares and files annual 1099s and file other annual tax/information returns - Assist with preparation and processing of payroll, calculation of sick and vacation Required to learn other functions of other department to assist in the absence of staff

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent.

- 7+ years of hands-on accounting experience with ERP experience, SAP is a plus.

- Bilingual English/Mandarin preferred, Spanish is a plus.

- Thorough understanding of GAAP.

- Strong analytical and accounting skills.

- Intermediate to advance experience with MS Excel.

- Adherence to policies, procedures and supervisor's instructions.

- Strong problem solving ability, result-drive, must be able to effectively handle multiple - Projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skill.

- Must be able to take ownership of his/her work and work independent
