Vice President of Human Resources

job summary:
The Vice President of Human Resources will oversee the maintenance of employee personnel files and other confidential files. The Vice President of Human Resource will ensure the provision of appropriate training for all managers and supervisors. The Vice President of Human Resources interprets personnel policies, rules and regulations; reviews personnel practices and procedures, and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate. The Vice President of Human Resources will ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines. The Vice President of Human Resources will administers employee benefit programs; serves as health plan administrator, chairs meetings of advisory committees and boards; administers special programs such as employee assistance. Consults with and advises department directors and other officials on personnel policies and practices.

responsibilities:
  • Controlling and monitoring the administration of all human resource activities and policies
  • Manage compensation, benefits, staffing, employee relations, health and safety, and training/developmental functions
  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls policies and programs encompassing human resources management.
  • Development and implement a global talent acquisition strategy.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, diversity and inclusion
  • Develop and maintain effective human resources business processes and information systems.
  • Prepare policies for accountability metrics for the achievement of human capital goals
  • Prepare and monitor performance and provide feedback.
  • Ensure the facilitation and resolution of employee relations matters (potential litigation, compensation, employment, employee relations and training)
  • Serve as trusted advisor, sounding board and business partner to senior leadership team, SME on people and organizational issues and providing guidance on managing complex organizational and people issues.
  • Develop and drive future workforce planning based upon capabilities; work with line managers to successfully navigate morale and climate within the business.
  • Provide executive coaching and leadership to senior leaders.
  • Lead the implementation of an automated HRIS platform.
  • Develop and lead the performance management, succession planning programs and training and development programs
  • Aggressively build leadership and bench strength and to ensure organizational effectiveness throughout the company.
  • Lead the development and administration of corporate benefits plans, including health and welfare, retirement savings plan, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute performance management and bonus programs
  • Foster an environment which retains the highest quality talent and promotes and sustains a high level of employee engagement.
  • Manage the compensation structure and philosophy in close partnership with the senior leadership team.
 
qualifications:
  • 12-15 years Human Resources Senior Leadership experience (employee relations, staffing, compensation, talent management and development)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field, 10 plus years of progressively responsible professional experience in public personnel management, to include supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing HR professionals is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior leadership with successful leadership up to the VP or C-suite levels
